On April 25, 2026, attacks on government facilities took place in Mali, carried out by approximately 10,000 to 15,000 insurgents from various political factions. A total of 800 people died during and after the attacks, the majority of them on the insurgents’ side. Radio Corax spoke with Olaf Bernau about the situation; he was on the ground at the time of the attacks for civil society initiatives by Afrique-Europe-Interact and wrote a report about that period.
